Managing Director

Wokingham Housing Limited

Managing Director

Minimum 50,000 per annum with on target earning in excess of 100,000

A wholly Council-owned Company, Wokingham Housing Limited, was set up in June 2011 to contribute to meeting housing needs through the provision of well-designed, high quality and sustainable affordable and private housing. The delivery of private housing will support creation of a self-sustaining company without recourse to public subsidy beyond initial investment by the Council. The Company will soon be on-site with its first development and has ambitious plans for the future, including estate regeneration and innovative new housing products.
The need has arisen for a permanent Managing Director of Wokingham Housing Limited to ensure the delivery of key strategies in relation to the business objectives and provide strategic leadership, direction and vision for the Company's Board.
The role is to provide strategic direction to the Company. The post holder ideally should have commercial, entrepreneurial and management experience at an executive level ideally within the housing, development or regeneration sector. An understanding of affordable housing would be an advantage. In addition, they must have an understanding of the unique position of a local authority trading company and the political and public service framework in which the private company operates.
For an informal discussion and for further details on how to apply and the selection process, please contact Louise Strongitharm at Wokingham Borough Council, telephone (0118) 974 6779 or email
