Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead CCG, part of Berkshire East CCG Federation, forms part of the new NHS. Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead CCG comprises 20 member practices covering a registered population of 149,927 who are resident primarily with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The aim of the CCG is 'Working together locally to deliver sustainable excellence in healthcare'. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Lay Member to sit on our governing body who will inspire public confidence and have the right drive and expertise to help us shape and develop the emerging CCG as it becomes fully established and authorised as a statutory body. You will bring strategic insight and impartiality to the governing body, overseeing key elements of governance, including audit, remuneration and conflicts of interest. This particular role will also be the audit chair lead for three local CCGs, therefore it is an essential requirement you are CCAB accountancy qualified. You will have the established skills, knowledge and expertise in working at a senior or board level in all aspects of governance, including financial and risk management. You will act as the senior independent director for the organisation. Due to specific requirements for this post we will be considering applicants from the wider Berkshire area who have a knowledge of the Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead local community. The minimum time commitment for the role is 2 days per month, which may include some evening engagements. This time commitment will be subject to review following authorisation of the CCG in April 2013. The remuneration for this is from 7,882 per annum.
