IT SUPPORT ASSISTANT
19,126 - 22,221 per annum (Grade 3)
Temporary post to 31st March 2014
Based in Tilehurst, Reading
This role is to provide all Brigade ICT end users with front line support and technical advice; assist in the research, development and maintenance of new IT systems in conjunction with other personnel and contractors; maintain an efficient allocation and utilisation of the Brigade IT resources.
Qualified to BTEC or similar level (or with evidence of achievement at the same level from substantial work experience), you will have at least two years experience of working as part of a team proving IT/ICT support 1st line or 2nd line Microsoft Office products and bespoke systems. Experience of building computer systems (workstation/laptop/servers) is essential, along with knowledge of Windows 2000, 2003, 2010, XP. Microsoft Exchange, TCP/IP Networks, Intranet & Web Access, LAN's, WAN's, WiFi, printers, fax and scanner multifunctional devices.
Flexibility is required as the post holder will be required to provide out of hours support 7 out of 28 days (includes working weekends and bank holidays) for ICT systems communication at operational incidents.
An additional allowance is payable for this.
