Reading UK CIC
£32,840 - £35,430 pa Ref: CEX0333
Full time, Permanent Forbury Square Reading
Reading is among the top 15 retail city centres in the UK, with the biggest share of the south east foreign direct investment outside London and a newly opened £850m railway station complex that makes a truly international architectural statement. But with more infrastructure investment to come, businesses facing rising global competition and high streets and shopping malls fighting for survival, Reading, despite being well placed, must realise its potential and that has to be an exciting challenge for any experienced 'communications expert'.
Can you demonstrate that you could re-launch, deliver and measure success of a complex multidisciplinary communications strategy for the Town and the Organisation? Could you realise the potential of our successful business, property and retail/hospitality sectors? Do you have the ability to influence the communication strategies and campaign spend of major international companies and local organisations? If you can give three yes's, then the Communications Manager role at Reading UKCIC, could be for you.
Reading UKCIC is a small, dynamic, business led economic development company that manages the Reading Town Centre, Business Improvement District. We will be working closely with Reading Borough Council, Reading University, local retailers, the property and construction industry, the international business community, transport operators and a range of local stakeholders over the coming years to position Reading as a forward thinking town that invests in its business, workforce and infrastructure.
You will be involved in preparing a new communications strategy, with new income streams and ensuring a close alignment with key local organisations in Reading. The Reading UK brand is a critical component to Reading's future success, therefore to have an understanding of branding and strategic marketing of a place would be an advantage.
You will be a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial outlook, able to demonstrate a passion for Reading. You will have a strong track record to developing communications strategies and promoting a town or key services within a town economy.
