CEO - Excellent Remuneration
After 17 years distinguished service as the first Chief Executive of Greenham Common Trust, Stuart Tagg is moving into a consultancy role on a part time basis. The Trust is now seeking a new Chief Executive to build on Stuart's good work and take the organisation to the next stage of its development.
Greenham Common Trust works in close partnership with the local community to provide financial support for charitable projects and purposes in West Berkshire and North Hampshire.
Since its establishment in 1997, Greenham Common Trust has so far distributed more than 20 million in grants and financial awards, charitable activities and projects.
The Trust is able to do all of this thanks to the investment in its main asset and trading subsidiary, Greenham Business Park - a 150-acre business park on the site of the former Greenham Common airbase.
CEO Role
This is an all-encompassing, rewarding and challenging role, leading a highly competent and longstanding team of 14 individuals.
The CEO will be responsible for making sure that the funds applied to charitable purposes and activities represent good value for money, while keeping other projects on track and liaising with the Trustees and the Distribution Committee
Extensive board reporting and writing skills are a pre-requisite, producing quarterly board reports which will include proposing strategic initiatives, responding to issues raised by the board and making regular reports on charitable expenditure.
A major part of the leadership function requires the ability to generate ever increasing returns on funds from the Trust's investments, including its trading subsidiary, by managing and developing those investments which include substantial property assets. To achieve this, the CEO will be a highly strategic and commercial individual, possessing proven leadership, management and public relations skills. While not essential, experience in property is also desirable.
Due to the nature and breadth of the role we will consider industry leaders from a variety of corporate backgrounds, although the specific sector is less important than the ability to recognise, mobilise, manage and apply the disciplines that are needed in relation to a particular challenge:-
- Law: property Law, planning law, charity law, company and commercial law, regulatory law.
- Finance: accountancy, company finance, charity finance, investment management, tax, VAT.
- Planning and development
- Surveying: building construction and management
- Information technology
- Communications and media
- General and project management
